this San Juan Huipil has been hand picked by myself whilst visiting this village.
this unique creation is loomed on a back strap loom and the figures represent unity they are woven into the garment as it is loomed it is a very intricate technique that is considered the hardest type of weaving once each panel is loomed it is then crochet together which takes forever (i know i waited for one to be finished in August x do u remember the photo of ricarda crocheting the panels together?)
i love my artisans from this village they are amazing examples of strong women and honour their incredible resilience and adore opening time with them.
